You can be admitted to the Queen
Elizabeth Hospital through :
- The Accident and Emergency Department
( usually for emergency cases such as for road traffic accidents,
heart attack etc.)
- Referral by polyclinics
- Referral by private practitioners.
- "Direct Walk-In" to the
labor ward for expectant mothers.

Registration
and Documentation |
Admission to the ward must first be
registered with the Patient Information and Admission Counter (usually
located in the respective clinic). The Counter is opened during office
hours. After office hours, all admissions to the hospital (except for
women in labor who can walk-in straight to the labor ward) are done by
the Accident and Emergency ( A&E) Department.
Please bring or prepare the
following before admission
1. Valid
identification document:
- Identification
card
- Traveling document for
foreigners
- Appointment card for
follow-up
- guarantee letter for
civil servants
- Employee guarantee
letter from employer/company
2. Patient
contact/address
- Complete postal address
for billing
- Postal address and
phone number of next of kin if the patient does not have permanent
address
- Employer's address for
foreigners
- Phone number
3. Basic necessities
for the patients:
- Clothing
- Towels
- Spoon / cup
- Tooth paste and brush
- Soap
4. Bring all
the medications you are on (unless you can remember all their names/dosages)

What
will happen in the ward? |
Once in the ward you can change into
hospital clothing. You will be shown to your bed and orientated to the
ward by one of the staff. Meals will be provided. Hot water is also
available free of cost.
